Switzerland is like one giant IKEA.

Since we just got into Switzerland, this afternoon was full of naps, jet lag, business meetings, and trying to find our way around the city with our eyes half closed.

We checked into our hotel, which is AWESOME! Everything is right out of IKEA, I SWEAR! Very modern and angular.

It’s gorgeous though, with a heated pool, hot tub, fitness room, and free breakfast which saves a ton of money if you fill your belly enough at breakfast, we can travel around all day, then just pay for some kind of dinner.

Breakfast buffet Swiss style

Bizarre looking pancakes and cheese logs. What else would you eat?

Well that's one way to get right to the point…

First swiss breakfast!

Everything is very energy efficient and environmentally friendly here. Even the escalators go slow when no ones on them, then they speed up with weight. Also, you have to have a room key inserted into a slot in order to have the lights on. Many lights are movement triggered and there’s no trash anywhere!

After exploring the hotel, we headed to the Wal-mart of Switzerland which is called Migros (they own EVERYTHING in Switzerland I swear)...

to have a presentation on the company and how they’ve become so successful in the country. They’re very sustainable and Swiss oriented. The Swiss people are very proud of keeping things within the country boundaries like using local farmers, etc.

They even gave us a real Swiss Army knife! Apparently, they actually are a big thing over here, I thought it was just an American view, but nope, they love those things.

These are some terrible pics of Migros Headquarters….I didn't figure out how to use my camera right until half way through the trip...

What, you ate the whole wheel of cheese?!?! So swiss!!!

They sell eggs individually here…genius.

We headed to the train station to explore, and the train station was so amazing! Tons of restaurants, shops, bustling people, and double decker trains (legit.).

Crown cakes like in New Orleans!

First beer in Europe!

We ended up eating at a little pizza place, but my stomach was off from traveling, so I just ordered minestrone soup and salad. But then, when my food came, my stomach was woken up by the thick cheese and risotto surrounding me. So, I ate two slices of other people’s pizza and some of the most delicious cheesy risotto ever! Luckily, the group here is just as open to sharing with me as Justin :)

We were so ti-ti after a huge day of traveling and plus the glass of wine at dinner and the best hot chocolate in the world

put me right to sleep, so we headed to bed afterwards and slept like a log!
