5k PR!

Saturday came bright and early. We had a race to run!!!

Einstein's fruit salad for b-fast!

Justin signed me up for his 5k team for his company's corporate challenge. There were about 6,000 participants
And 125 companies attending!

It was a brisk morning, but it must have pushed me to go faster because I finished in just over 24:13 and averaged just over 8 minutes per mile!

It was a huge competition that people took wayyy more seriously than we did, but we stuck around to watch the rest of the events. There was a CrossFit challenge, all kinds of relays and races, and a tug of war that Justin's company rocked out!

Afterwards we headed to the RAM downtown to get some post race grub! I had a bunch of appetizers including chips and cheese, quesadillas, and potato skins! Yikes!

I only had room for a salad after all that.

We headed home, and I did a few last minute preparations for the photoshoot tomorrow, then Stuart and Hank came over to play!

Stuart serenaded me on the guitar for a while, he is getting SO good! You go girl :)

We headed out for a walk with the dogs, and I showed him my parents house 1/2 a mile away, then we walked to my sisters to see them, but they weren't home, so we ate their food, drank their beer and sat in their back yard while the dogs ran a muck!

We headed back, did some further serrenading before heading to Three Sisters in the rip for din-din/ breakfast!

I had the most random dinner of Tomato vegetable soup, porridge, and fruit.

It hit not just THE spot but all my spots!

That came out wrong. Ummm.. Anyway, we had lots of table talk there before heading home and pretty much straight to bed because I had a 6am wake up call! Photo shoot time!!!!!

Getting our beauty sleep! :)

Light as a feather, stiff as a board

Thursday

I started this morning out with an attack!!!!

BodyAttack that is :) I'm hilarious, I know.

This is my favorite class of all time. Now that I have a job, the only one I can really make is on Saturday mornings, and we all know how that good intention ends...

So, BodyAttack, I will miss you. But my legs won't. Not even a little bit. As a matter of fact, my legs aren't huge fans of you and the way you beat them into submission every Thursday morning. Wish me luck with my intentions next Saturday!

Breakfast was a quick bowl o' bananas, Protein Special K, and almond milk!

A walk with my buddy followed! Finley and I have been reading on our walks.

More me than him I suppose, although we're working on that. So far, the only words he's got are rough, bark, growl, and something like gggrrrrmmmmooowwwwaaaarrrggggmmm.

He's really good at that one, whilst rolling around on the floor.

Reading seriously makes the walks go so much faster and makes it easier for me to walk him further without getting bored to tears.

Lunch was eaten romantically by myself by candlelight. The last of my delicious butternut squash and kale soup!

Wah wahhhh.

Afternoon was spent SUPER organizing my life. Calendars, closets, lunch boxes, car, anything you can think of. I suppose you could say I'm nesting for my "job baby".

Is that weird??

Don't answer that.

Anyway, after life organization and watching the Modern Family premiere (didn't you love the animals humping on top of the car??!??!?!? I peed myself laughed a lot in that part), I headed to another grueling practice.

We learned yet ANOTHER awesome dance (they just keep coming!!) and prepped for our photo shoot on Sunday. I promise a few pics from that, should be a blast! And keep your fingers crossed that I dont look like a drag queen at the end of all that hair and makeup! Yikes.

Late dinner of an awesome stir fry mix from Trader Joe's…

Bedtime was a mess. When I get home from practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually Justin is already in bed, and sometimes with Finley (no homo). It's so hard to fall asleep when there's already a vast amount of snoring/heavy breathing going on. Not to mention, a 60 lb animal who thinks it's really fun to lay RIGHT on top of you.

I love you too, Fin, but mommy does not a pillow make! Needless to say, I'd had it when at about 1AM Finley started snoring too. Are you kidding me kids?!? Oh em gee.

Thank God for the new mattress downstairs. I headed down at about 1:30, only to be followed by my 60 lb friend 15 minutes later. I love being a mom except in moments like this where you would be heartless to lock them out, despite how much you don't want them to follow you. So being the softy that I am, I caved and we cuddled the rest of the night. Snoring, sleeplessness, and all.

Friday was full of even more organizing and finishing up the house (yes there's STILL plenty to be done even after 3 months of living here)...

But first!! Paleo oats with PB2 and figs!!

It fueled me until a late 2:30 lunch!

Along with a snack of carrots and this dip I found at Trader Joe's.

This place is quickly living up to all the hype.

My dad and I spent the morning hanging curtains in our house. I watched and applauded him every once in a while assisted.

I hit BodyWorks and Target a little later for nothing necessary some necessities And by the time I came home he was about done!!

Curtains just add a certain warmth to a house that nothing else can!

I also got my replacement iPhone (I dropped mine and the screen cracked and went fuzzy. Not to mention it never holding a charge for more than a few hours. Hallelujah I needed a new one!

Luckily, I have insurance and one was delivered to my doorstep the next day! Except I spent about an hour and a half trying to figure out how to sync it with my computer.

We filled our bellies at a local Indian restaurant in B-rip! My plate was ssssooo colorful!!!

Buffet looks something like this…

Spent some more time organizing... This time the Pacers closet was my victim!!

Ahhhh, much better.

When Justin came home, we spent some quality time, then headed out on the town with the fam!

We went out to OceanAire to celebrate my new employment and my Aunt Stevie being in town!

What a beautiful restaurant!

Oyster snow cone anyone? Vomit.

I split the mixed greens salad and the sole with capers!

We also split the sides of green beans and bacon and cheese potatoes! Merica!

After dinner, I giggled with my mom the entire way home. Mostly about her tendency to have one CD in her car for a good year and a half before changing it. Some of her previous selections have been Mary Chapin Carpenter (just a treat).. The Dixie Chix (ok, I didn't hate this phase)... And last but not least Kenny Loggins. But not even the whole CD. JUST the Pooh Corner song. You know, Christopher Robbin.

Found here.

Oh my.Couldn't do it.

After getting a few belly laughs in, we got just a few more in when Finely decided to have a night of middle school games. Light as a feather, stiff as a board, anyone????

He had the stiff as a board part fine, it was the light as a feather that he's still working on. You'll get there, buddy, you'll get there.

And I'll leave you with that.

#winning

I found this post from a while ago too, so I thought I'd post it today!! I keep writing drafts on my phone, and then forget about them when I switch to the laptop!

Serry. BUT, this post is quite appropriate for the time being :) It's fun to look back on where I've been knowing what's to come!

Today was my "go all out" fitness day (I try to have one or two of those a week, using my other days as lighter intensity/prep days) beginning with BodyAttack. Oh my beloved! I have a twisted sick obsession with this class.

It is ridiculously hard. So much so, that I have to bargain with myself to get through almost every single song. Ok, after this one, I get water! Ok after this one I get an extra long break!

But at the end. Oh the end of class is SO worth it. You're completely spent. You're muscles are exhausted. Legs tingling. Covered in shalty shweat.

Wait a second?? Am I talking about BodyAttack, or 50 shades????

Yikes sorry guys, guess my mind drifted a bit.

Anywayssss inappropriate... A hardcore workout called for a hardcore breakfast.

Oatmeal made with egg whites and banana!

Topped with strawberries, coconut for healthy fat, and PB2 for even more protein!

I spent 100% of the morning applying for jobs. Blah, nothing exciting to share there at all. Except I'm getting freakishly good at filling out online applications. Also freakishly good at getting rejected.

"Yay for character building"

Oh wait no. Character building, you suck. No one likes you.

You know who we do like?

Employment. That guy rocks! Love his friend Payday too, what a fun guy!

Oh man. I need a job.

Sheesh I'm a loser right now! I also miss Justin like crazy! This may sound odd considering we reside under the same roof and happen to sleep in the same bed every night, even own the same dog!

Yet, since I went to the lake last weekend, went out with friends Monday and Tuesday, he went out to work happy hour Wednesday, and I had practice all Thursday night, I haven't seen the guy in a week!

VERY excited to spend some quality time with him and our friends this weekend!

I'm sure this kid will entertain us all.

I spent the afternoon taking Finley on a walk, eating my feelings in grapes dipped in Nutella, and uploading pictures, and making my dog a Facebook page.

Again. #winning.

Grabbed Jimmy Juan's on the way to practice.

Practice came quick and we got tons done! Uniforms and measurement and dancing oh my!

So excited to start performing at games! I am already super nervous just thinking about it!

I came home to a bowl of beef veggie soup, BBQ sunflower seeds, and my sweet sweet bed.

Cashing In.

Yesterday was spent cashing in in all kinds of ways!

First, I didn't work out! I "cashed in" my day off finally. I ended up working out every day last week, just because I had a low key weekend and had all kinds of time, so I had no excuse.

I had an interview at 8AM to start off my day. There was no messing around this morning, not even to sweat a bit!

Finley and I had a coupon for a FREE day of Puppy Playground daycare that we needed to cash in, and after I didn't feel so hot about my interview and the rain started, I knew today was the day that I needed to get him out of the house and wear him out!

Nervous for his first day of school (tear)!!

WHOA doggy!

Puppy Playground was an AWESOME place and I would suggest it to anyone looking for some dawgs/dogs for their dog to hang out with all day while you're at work. What a great idea. Seriously. I want that job.

Buttttt…..

Guess what????? I have a different job. I got word in the afternoon that all of my hard work searching and interviewing and giving my 30 second elevator pitch 10 million times finally PAID OFF!!! Cashing in again.

I FINALLY ACCEPTED A JOB OFFER!!!!!

I am no longer a stay at home mom/"full-time" blogger, folks. The working life begins again (bittersweet).

I accepted a great position as an account executive/mobile marketing consultant at a marketing firm in the area. I am sooo excited about this opportunity!!!

And the best part (besides the laid back "jeans friendly" office atmosphere, the generous compensation, the normal business hours) is no more red and khaki! Oh my.

You mean I get to wear whatever colors I want to work?!?!?! SHWHAT?! AMAZEBALLS.

I will make my best attempt to keep blogging, but of course my company probably pays a bit better than you guys do, so I have to put my job and the Pacers first… I apologize in advance if my posts are few and far between, but please know that I am making my best effort! Don't yell at me.

Anyway… in the afternoon, I cashed in on my bank account (what little there was to cash in) and went shopping with my sister! Forever 21 is always the death of me, and this time was no different.

Oops…

I "cashed in" on a free facial as well! The partnership the Pacemates have with Salon 01 is incredible and we each were treated to a pre-season facial (that sounded really bad…I promise it's not like that) on the house! It was an hour long, and I felt like a new woman afterwards. I also got my hair cut and colored again for the upcoming photo shoot this Sunday!

After I got mah herr did… I grabbed some dinner

Turkey and hummus wrap with raw veggies!

and then straight to practice to rehearse the dances before practice actually started. The dances are all starting to run together a bit and it's getting harder and harder to keep them straight and remember what moves go where.

Practice started by watching videos of some of the dances we're going to do this year, and it made me SO excited. They are good you guys. You need to come to some games to watch! Let's just say the one we're doing on opening night will be entertaining!

I ran to my friend's house after practice to pick up some potential outfits for the photo shoot on Sunday, then went home and crashed!

Today, there was not much to report on…

Protein pancakes with figs

BodyPump

Killed my quads this morning!

Lunch in true Brittany fashion- healthful and weird Trader Joe's Eggplant and Zucchini with mozzarella balls…

Eyeball Doctor
See! I still support the red and khaki.

Apple/Yogurt snack

Congratulatory rose from Justin, he's still got it folks :) Cashing in!

Like that it's in a Guinness glass? Pretty accurate for our relationship.

Celebratory glass of wine with my sister

"Yay I got a job" drinks and dinner with Justin. We sat outside at 10-01. Listened to the yazz flute. And gazed lovingly into each other's eyes. ;)

I had a cucumber fizz cocktail (Cucumber vodka, St. Germaine, Lime, and Soda)

As well as they're amazing corn chowder and this Cilantro Steak salad! Pretty decent, although I prefer the pear salad I had here before.

WHAT a day. Phew.

Bed time!!!!!

Baked Boobs.

Monday Funday!!!! Why does Sunday always have to be the fun day?? Monday gets no glory.

It actually was a fun day around here! Justin stayed home sick, so I got to hang out with my boys allllll day!!!

But first a smoothie while Justin rested. Wanna know my PERFECT smoothie recipe…after a full year of trying different recipes, I've got it down to a science now.

-1 cup spinach
- 3/4 cups frozen berries
-3/4 a banana
-1/2 cup almond milk
- 1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder
-1/4 cup crushed ice and water mixture
-1/4 tsp. xantham gum for thickening!

Seriously. Works like a charm every time. Serve in a bowl for more fun, and top with your favorites! I usually top with nuts and dried fruit, coconut, and cereal.

Someone was rarin' to go this morning!

I took him on a half an hour walk to get some of his energy out before heading heading to the gym myself.

Bootcamp conditioning this time…with these…

Between BodyCombat yesterday, and this class with a lot of punching and kicking, my back and arms are dead. I tell you what, I knew it was a good class when I wanted to punch the instructor in the face at the end of it. Seriously, that's how you know.

Yikes. This lady kicked my ass!

Broadripple Brewpub for lunch with my love!

We took our time eating and chatting today with nothing to get home for, we never do that! It was glorious.
 Pub Ploughman's Plate for me!

With a bowl of mushroom soup!

I spent a very tedious afternoon getting our guest room together, making insurance calls, paying and organizing bills…

Our new/old room!

Carmel apples to tide me until dinner!

I ran out to buy a suit for tomorrow's 8AM interview, then whipped up chili lime chicken, roasted brussels sprouts with feta, and a sweet potato!

For the chili lime chicken, I adapted a recipe for fish tacos…here's approximately what I used…
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

1/2 Tbsp lime juice
1/2 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp onion powder

I baked the boobs at 400 degrees for 25 minutes and they were delish!

The rest of the night was spent couch sittin' and a finger lickin'!! Ew. Not so much the second part...
