4.4.12

I ti-ti.

Phew. Today was a big day in the life of a working girl.

I started the day with a workout with my buds at The Firm…(I actually got up!! success!!!)

Boy did I feel the burn. I used double the weight I usually do and it made a HUGE difference.

and another apples bowl with plain greek yogurt, homemade "banana bread larabar," cranberry trail mix, and cinnamon!

Mmm! Totally worth almost getting into several wrecks on the way to work!

Work was L-O-N-GGGGGGGGGGGGG.

I started executing everything that my boss and I went over yesterday in our brand walk. I was runnin' all over the store like a mad woman, to the fixture room, the sign and label PC, e-mailing like a bia.

I got stopped on the way to the morning meeting by a VERY angry customer. So, that was cool. Then, she complained about me?! Because I said I'm so sorry, that's not ok, I'll address that issue right away? I'm sorry lady, what did you want to do, wipe your ass?

Sorry, that's really not professional of me, but I've got to have SOMEWHERE to vent about my job, right?

I had to coach some team members because of the guest that complained about me, poor things, they thought they were in trouble! Gosh, I felt so bad.

Anyway, I have to be sure that all the "assets" of the company are secure, so basically if I fail to lock a door, whether it be the compactor, or the receiving door, or what have you, I'm fired! So, it was really cool today that two doors wouldn't lock.

Put together a cockroach in the pharmacy, fruit flies in the compactor, angry customers, and passive aggressive team member who doesn't think I'm going to last longer than a few months in position, and you've got one exhausted girl.

I won't go on and on about work, but let's just say it kicked my arse today. Fo relz.

After running some errands (including buying 3 things of different flavors of ice cream…don't judge me), I made turkey with gravy, veggies, and quinoa for Justin and I.

Don't be that impressed, I made the quinoa last night while catching up on my DVR and Jenni-O helped me out with the turkey and gravy. 6 minutes on high and we were set.

After some quick catching up on our days, our friends Suzy and Stephan came over to see our new house! Suz even brought me two gorg. candles as a housewarming gift! :) She's the best. Suz, you can come over any day. k?

We obviously did the only appropriate thing with them and gorged on junk food and watched Doomsday Preppers and all the crazy fishing shows on nat geo whilst our thoughtful commentary made it even more entertaining.

We always have the best time with those ke-ads.

Happy Tuesday!

2.4.12

All in a day's work.

Welllllll, Monday morning started out bright and early at 5:15 when I told myself I'd sneak in a workout before work.

Hmmm… we all know how that ended up…Let's just say my biceps really got worked hitting the snooze button over and over and over again….

Right…..

So, my day started at 6 instead with a refreshing shower (I actually shaved my legs today..yeah, today is THAT important).

Not really, but my leg hairs were starting to become makeshift pants. Did I just say that out loud?

Whole new meaning to the words "sexy pants."

Anywayysssss…

I grabbed an apples bowl with yogurt, nuts, whipped cream, grapes, and carfee and headed to a full day of work!

I started the day with a brand walk of my area with my boss. Walked away with a list about a mile and a half long of stuff my team leaders and I need to be doing. Yeesh.

GOOD MARNIN'!!!

After that, I met with my Starbucks Team Leader to go over what she was finding in her Values Walks that she's supposed to be doing everyday for her department to evaluate her business.

Yes, part of my job is to conduct Starbucks coffee tastings for my team leaders to be able to speak to the products and drive sales :) You're jealous. I know.

Then, I met with my Guest Services Team Leader to loop her in on the brand walk and what opportunities we have up front to improve our service and presentation for our guests. I covered for her while she did an interview for a cashier, and boy oh boy am I glad I don't have her job!

It's like everyone needs a piece of you at the same time! And not in a good way :)

Oh wait. My job's like that too.

Aw crap.

I got to do an interview for a cashier, and even though the person was a no go, I LOVE doing interviews!! Maybe it's the pageant girl in me, but I love hearing people's answers and how they "market" themselves.

And dead sexy. :)

A quick lunch stuffed down followed by printing and analyzing all of my reports before our Executive meeting.

I just needed to be right on Target for the meeting. Tehe.

The meetings tend to be pretty lengthy and typically last the rest of the afternoon. This meeting was no exception, as we were in there from 2PM until 4:30.

We go over all kinds of information from payroll hours allocated to our department, rollouts from corporate that we get to execute, talent management, sales by department and what we can do to control expenses and drive sales, ideas to engage our employees, and we have a little fun in there too :)

See how we all smile and don't move our heads the whole meeting? We're so good.

I love the people that I work with for the most part, thank goodness!

I got to end my day by putting a team member on a final warning for cussing another team member out :)

Oh joy. All in a day.

After all that whirlwind, I needed an outlet!

I drove home, stuffed down a salad with spinach, kidney beans, carrots, celery, croutons, and rosemary,

and headed to the gym to take an awesome cycling class called RPM.

Errr…what if you really did steal it???? Is that a problem??

I recently switched gyms and my new on has this as an offering. It is all choreographed cycling from the same company (Les Mills) that choreographs BodyPump, which I LOVE!!!

The class is a KILLER. Seriously, don't take it unless you are or desire to be a pure beast. But, it does burn any where from 400-800 calories per class depending on how hard you are willing to push yourself.

So, obviously, I had to gain it all back. Now, I'm plopped down on the couch while Justin's at soccer indulging in cookies n' cream ice cream…

with grapes, so it's healthy…right?

and Dancing with the Stars!

Pure luxury. Or at least as good as I can do on a random Monday night.

Tots

Well, Saturday morning began with a toilet clogging, a colony of ants in my kitchen, and a broken sink.

Oh how quickly our dream house has transformed to our house from hell! :) Just kidding…kind of...

Not to mention dryer that broke a week ago when I had a huge load in the washer. Haha, I just said huge load….

Anyway, needless to say, I could not wait to get out of our 100-year-old house and into my parents nice, new one where everything works how it's supposed to!

It certainly takes me right back to college having to lug all of my laundry down to my parents house for the weekend. Too bad my house in college worked better than the one I live in now! Ha! Yeesh.

My empathetic mother met me at the door with a hug and a bloody mary. The two things that always cure problems in our family.

Love and support comes in many forms...especially liquid. <-- TWSS

My mam (how us northerners say mom) made us sloppy joes, sloppy sloppy joes yaaaa!!! Salad and tots. Yes, I did stuff some tots in my pocket for later.

This is me and my snakeskin cargos. I don't go anywhere without em.

I then headed out to the betch with my mama for some chatting and good old fashioned indulgence.

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

Nuff said.

The rest of the night was filled with movie time/basketball time for the guys and snuggies!

Us girls watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

It was extremely good and incredibly emotional. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's a tearjerker of a story about 9/11 from the perspective of a little boy who lost his dad that day. Get the Kleenex ready though, holy guacamole!!!

Sunday

You know you had a good sleep when you wake up with drool on your pillow and a dry mouth from it hanging open all night.

After packing a solid 11 hours of much needed sleep, I headed out to the beach for morning animal watching, coffee drinking, and book reading with my dad!

See him out there all by his lonesome on the beach?

I started reading this book my mom gave me, but I can hardly sit still to finish it :)

Carfee.

As Justin said this morning, "Another beautiful day in Florida."

Check out my mom's bougainvilleas! Or as I call them boogervilleas.

After getting my fill of coffee and ocean, I headed in to make the fam some breakfast smoothies complete with spinach (my secret ingredient), blueberries, dark cherries, other mixed fruit, milk, and yogurt.

Delish!!

Then, we headed out on the boat for an afternoon of gallivanting. And look who gallivanted with us!!!!…..

It's one!

No two dolphins!!!!

And that's not all folks.

Alright folks, keep your arms and feet inside the vehicle at all times!!

Speaking of feet, my parents put this adorable little bucket at the screen door because we have real sand on our beach now!!

All that excitement was complimented by a delicious meal on the water at Pop's...

Mango shrimp, steamed veggies, and edamame salad.

And this was the result of all that sunshine, food, and excitement, this is what all of us looked like...

Sorry dad, I had to.
