Denim on denim

This weekend actually started on Thursday with a root beer float martini!

Mmmm…nothing says childhood like alcohol in the form of a root beer float.

Also followed by some saki bombs

Heyyyyyy!!! It was Zach and Jen's first saki bomb experience. Glad to have popped their cherry….errr...

and jamison straight up A-town down.….

Our friend Zack drinking his Jamison. Nothing says Thursday night out like denim on denim. Get it girl. Get it get it girllll

So what if I had to work the next morning??

Atleast I had this delicious crab water bowl with farro, jicama, and some other shtuff (not quite sure to be honest)….to tide me over during a night full of festivities.

This stuff was soooo delish!

I went home early, but still felt guilty going to work with a hangover in front of these elementary school children walking to class…

Does that fact that I even took this picture make me slightly creepy??? Or maybe slightly petofiliac??

Oh well. You live and you learn. Or at least you live….

Learning is overrated anyway.

I had a great status with my boss and was able to knock out a few meetings today and go out to lunch with my co-workers! I'm such a grown-up, ew!!!!!

So, after last night's activities, everyone was feeling pretty down for the count, so we opted for a low key night spent at Datz (one of our favorite restaurants ever!)..

I got the Lettuce Entertain You salad with candied pecans, mixed greens, cranberries, strawberries, blueberries (rrrruuummmm punch! Deeeelicious!), turkey, and GOUDA!!!

It totally entertained me. Just sayin.

Then we headed to Hula Bay for a small cocktail and some life chats before hitting the couch with a giant brownie we picked up from Datz and House Hunters International, Paris version. I know what you're thinking. We are sooo cool.

This is Hula Bay and obviously a picture that I did not take. If only my life looked like that..

Toodles!

Growing Pains (and not the sitcom from the 90s)

Sooooo…. I am officially official.

I may have been down and out, dazed and confused, and pretty much useless during all of my training at Target. But I am officially done with training and ready to take on the world!!! One Target at a time…. :)

Here's my official business card minus the address, phone number, and fax…I need to protect myself from any creepers out there who are thinking about faxing me…woah….faxy cleopatra, comin' atcha!

Here's my other sign of officialness. Keys to my own Teeerrggettt!!! Thanks Santa :) I must have been realllly good this year!!!

How did I get there you ask??

1.) Wearing red and khaki for 8 weeks straight (felt like hazing…)
2.) Lots of computer work and snacks…

I am now Starbucks' #1 customer… your welcome. Yup…all because of deez glazed nutz (oh how I miss 2001 when we spelled everything with a z just because it felt right). Not the only glazed nutz I love :) HAHA! Sorry….soooo inappropriate.

3.) Being a little puppy dog, and following people around for 2 months, nipping at their heels, and learning anything and everything they threw at me. Yes, Beggin strips might have been involved…

Huh??? IT'S BACCCCOOONNNN!!!!!!! By the way, this is a real live picture of Finley and his brothers and sisters. He's coming home with mommy and daddy on Thursday!!!!!!!!

4.) Eating strictly out of Gladware for every meal.

If eating out of Gladware doesn't make you glad…. let's be friends, because if I have to eat another meal on the go, I may or may not break down. But let's be honest… when you're going to work at 4AM or coming home at 1AM, plastic dinner wear is necessary.

So, obviously I've put in some serious time and dedication to my job, and now it's time to reap the benefits and enjoy myself!!

Martini anyone? Or five….oops….

I may or may not have made up for lost time…

Happy as a little girrrllll!!!!

But let's be honest, besides just having a brand spankin' new job, I have lots of other things to celebrate!

New house!!!

Bamboo out our kitchen window!

Karen Hagan's anthropologie-esque creation.

Quaint :)

Dining room on the porch!

Living room in its most natural state…with my hubs on the couch :)

I didn't realize how awkward it was to have that sign right that. "If you believe it, you can achieve it." If you only push realllly hard!!!!

Ruffles and a claw foot tub! :)

Work in progress...

Messy bed, but at least we got it upstairs…(unlike the couch and the armoire that were supposed to go upstairs too…"yay")

Makeshift dresser!

Office/workout room

The parlor! So southern...

More ruffles… don't tell Justin..

Also to celebrate… the marriage of Jamie and Joe!!!

Saint Patrick's day was that much better because of their holy wedlock!!!

A new haircut!!!

Yay-gah bombs.

IU basketball being back!!! No, we didn't win the whole thing… but at least we held our own and were exciting to watch!!!

Am-ah-zing. Ly true.

My first debut as a video vixen…guess who's the opening shot?? Yep, yours truly. But truly, don't ever let anyone talk me into wearing leopard print leggings again.

So happy for my friend Elvin and glad I could help him launch his career in the music biz! He's awesome, and you can download this single, Entertainer, on iTunes!!!

Life is short but sweet for certain. As much as I've struggled to get on my feet in the grown up world (literally, I fell twice yesterday)

Really? How old am I again??? Oh yeah, twice as old as I act…

And this is how pissed I was about it:
Look at that face. I was a "pleasant child"

anyways…. I'm starting to feel like I have a handle on it and am starting to enjoy my new growned up life!!

Now we've just go to get ready for our last growing pain for a while….

My little fat kid. :)

Happy Thursday!!!!
